Key Priorities for 2025-2026
Dear Parent/Guardian
Below is a summary of our one-year plan for 2025-2026. We have three key priorities with an additional three subsidiary priorities. All priorities will be reviewed on a regular basis.

1. Teaching & Learning
|
- To introduce a new Teaching & Learning Policy, “Empower Learners”
- To have a whole school approach to supporting effective teaching and learning in the classroom through the Performance Review and Staff Development process
- To create opportunities for staff to reflect on their classroom practice and share good practice within dedicated staff groups
- To create high quality staff training sessions on teaching and learning throughout the year

2. Special Educational Needs
|
- To generate accurate and high quality data to track and monitor SEN pupils at all stages
- To ensure all staff use data effectively to support our SEN pupils
- To revisit effective teaching and learning strategies that best support pupils in stage one of the SEN Code of Practice (in class support)
- To survey SEN pupils and parents/carers to gather views on school support
- To structure s programme of support and professional development for classroom assistants

3. Empowering Pupil Voice
|
- To review our current pupil voice structure and introduce a whole school structure to capture pupil opinions and views on important school topics
- To build into the school calendar regular meetings between the Senior Leadership Team (staff) and student council meetings
- To have the capacity to involve, capture and enact on pupil voice/feedback on teaching & learning and pastoral matters
- To feed back to pupils via assemblies on the progress of school matters
- For the Principal to meet focus groups on key school topics (termly)

Artificial Intelligence
|
- To create a working group
- To examine how AI can support teaching and learning
- To examine how AI can reduce staff workload
- To create opportunities to share good practice in this area

EA Programme |
- To identify and respond to key themes that have emerged from the survey findings undertaken recently: capturing pupil voice more effectively, promotion of inhouse support services and improving communication with parents/guardians re mental health and wellbeing resources and support
- To include in this year’s school calendar one EA Health & Wellbeing training session (tbc)

- To have in place for August 2025 a one year action plan
- To be included on agendas at Senior Leadership Team & Governor level
- To promote Shared Education on our social media e.g. a monthly post agreed between all participating schools
- To introduce a more robust method to engage impact of Shared Education (baseline & end of project feedback)
- To support and participate in a cross curricular/subject sustainability theme across the 3 participating schools (Lisneal College, St Mary’s College & St Cecilia’s College) in Year 8
- To explore interschool senior prefect training
